Looking Forward

Looking Forward

As another Christmas has come and gone, it is time once again, to get ready for the new year.  That includes looking back over the previous year's accomplishments, but also it's failures.  For some, it was a good year.  Perhaps a baptism, a marriage, or even a new job. We must give thanks to God for these things and pray for continued blessings in our future.  Then their were some who's year wasn't as good.  They may have lost their job, a loved one, or may just be lost in general.  Some may be looking for something to fill the void in their life.  That's where God can make the difference.  We as Christians should always be looking for ways to spread the Word of God.  Some may want to hear it, and some may not.  Regardless, we should always be looking for ways to teach the Gospel.  Not one person on this Earth is promised tomorrow, not one soul can reach heaven with out Jesus, and not one Christian should be ashamed to speak up for God in any situation.  Think about that for a second.  How many of us hear a co-worker, or friend, or even a loved one talking about something they shouldn't.  Maybe they are saying things about a friend, or even you.  Will you speak up?  Will you continue to let that happen around you?  I have been guilty of this, and I'm sure you have as well.  We must take a stand for Christ.  We as Christians are supposed to pray for our enemies, and I for one will tell you that's hard for me.  If we are what we are supposed to be, perhaps it will be easier.  I am still on my journey to be the best I can be so hopefully one day I will get there. We all have weaknesses, and we all have needs. Philippians 4:19: “And my God will fill your every need according to His riches, in glory, in Christ Jesus.” God fills our needs, but not according to our need. God fills according to His riches. God's will be done.  If you had a bad year, this passage should give you hope.  Life on the Earth is but a sliver of time, and how we live determins our future home.  We should always look to God for guidance and direction.  I know it is hard sometimes, and we fight sin everyday.  God will help us through, but we must go to Him in prayer for that knowledge and direction.

A new year brings change for many. New year's is a time for resolutions.  The upcoming year will be what you make it.  I wish everyone of you a happy new year.  I pray that we all find what we are looking for.  A new job, a wife or husband, or whatever it may be.  I just pray we all make a better effort to be closer to God.  That is a resolution we should all make.  Study God's word, be closer to him in our daily walk of life, and be a shinning example as a Christian.  These are a few of my resolutions, I hope yours are similar.  We should all strive to be better all around human beings, and try to make the world a better place while we are here.  Check on a shut in, make a phone call to someone you haven't talked to in years, just give a friendly greeting to a stranger on the street.  We can all do this, it takes only moments out of our day, and we will never really know how it can totally change the life of someone.  Nobody knows what others are going through, or what hard times someone is having.  That is unless you ask.

God Bless you in the upcoming year,

When I initially left a comment I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new

the same comment. There has to be a means you can remove me from that service?
Thanks a lot!
